A typical assessment centre will consist of a range of assessment tools (tests, group exercises, role plays etc.). Each tool will help to assess one or more key characteristics that are required of the successful applicant.

Development centres are an excellent tool for helping employees to identify their strengths and areas for development, for the benefit of the individual employee and the organisation. Development centres are akin to assessment centres. They consist of a range of assessment tools to help assess key personal characteristics required for success within the role. However the results from the development centre are used purely for developmental purposes with the individual employees to help them grow, improve and develop. Development centres have been used successfully with frontline employee’s right through to board members.
