Validation Study: SCAAT Predicts Tram Simulator Performance for Tram Driver Applicants
The Safe Concentration and Attention Test (SCAAT) is one of the world's leading safety tests for assessing concentration. A recent validation study conducted by OPC Assessment’s Psychologists found that the SCAAT predicted the performance on work-related assessment tools in UK Tram Drivers – including a Hazard Perception Test and Simulator.
Candidates with higher accuracy on the SCAAT subsequently performed better on the Hazard Perception Test and the Simulator. Those candidates who had higher Correct scores on the SCAAT also performed better on the Simulator.
This validation study with Tram Drivers adds further weight to the effectiveness and validity of the SCAAT, and supports its use as a recruitment tool for safety critical roles in the transport sector.
