Non-technical skills training
Non-Technical Skills (NTS) can be described as the personal characteristics that employees bring to their job that helps them to work efficiently, effectively and safely. NTS includes an employee’s abilities, skills, personality and motivation. Each role is unique and so may require a unique set of NTS.
Over the last few years NTS has become increasingly important in safety critical organisations. They have been used by organisations to help their employees utilise NTS in their day-to-day jobs and in turn help reduce safety incidents.
The OPC have been using NTS with its UK and international clients for over 25 years and we can:
- Identify what NTS are required in safety critical roles within an organisation.
- Upskill managers in what NTS are all about and how to use them to develop and enhance their employee’s performance.
- Train managers in how to use NTS as part of an investigation process following a safety incident to get to the underlying human factor root cause.
- Apply NTS with employees who have had safety incidents to help them stay safe on their return to work.
If you would like to know more about how we could assist you with using NTS within your organisation to maximum benefit then please contact the OPC.
