Description
The OTDPQ provides assessors with a profile of the specific personality traits, attitudes and behavioural styles that have been linked to the outstanding train driver's behaviour.
The questionnaire consists of 6 scales and 12 subscales relating to the key characteristics of an excellent or outstanding train driver, i.e. a train driver who is not only average but is excellent in the role. It is ideal for use with any driving role within the rail industry.
Research has revealed a link between driver applicants' performance on the OTDPQ and aspects of the UK standard rail industry assessment process. This suggests that the outstanding train driver may not only possess behavioural styles and motivations that make an excellent train driver but also perform the basic requirements of the train driver role well.

Expert Online Reports - Interview Question Prompt Form
The OTDPQ Interview Question Prompt Form has been designed to help you either select trainee drivers who are likely to be exceptional or to recruit existing train drivers who could be outstanding. It helps you recruit the very best from a pool of typical applicants.
How does it work?
Your applicants, whether they are trainee drivers or experienced train drivers, complete the OTDPQ online using OPC Assessment's expert system. The OTDPQ assesses six personality characteristics that are linked to the outstanding train driver. Our expert system will then take each applicant's OTDPQ personality profile and generate bespoke questions for that applicant based on their OTDPQ profile. You can then use these questions at interview. The interview prompt form allows you to check out the OTDPQ findings, and to see if they could be outstanding by asking some probing interview questions. You can then grade the applicant's outstanding tendencies based on the interview results and their OTDPQ profile.
You can decide whether to interview against all six OTDPQ personality characteristics or just some - the choice is yours.
The OTDPQ interview prompt form is user friendly. It is ideal for use by driver line managers to help them assess if their applicants will be the very best train drivers. If you would like to know more or see a sample report then please contact us.
