Description
The CoreN assesses an individual's ability to interpret and reason with generic numerical information. This test is suited to any role where reasoning with numerical information is a required competency. The test is not specific to any industry or role in particular therefore the CoreN can be used universally as a measure of numerical reasoning.
The test consists of 19 multiple-choice questions based on fictitious scenarios of numerical information across a range of job roles and industries.
Here is an example of the type of scenario of numerical information you might see in the CoreN:
Example: Deborah’s Cup Cakes
Deborah works in a bakery. It is the beginning of December and she is planning to run a promotion on her popular cupcakes:
- A single cupcake costs $0.31 to make; therefore a box of 6 cost $1.86 to make. Deborah sells each box for $4.50.
- Deborah will make 30 boxes a day and Deborah plans to sell out of cupcakes each day.
- Deborah’s shop will be open 7 days a week throughout December..
